Many of our staff volunteer at the Alzheimer Café’s in Newport, Ryde, Sandown, Freshwater and Ventnor.

We featured in the Sept, 2011 issue ‘Nursing & Residential Care’  magazine, vol 13, No 9 , for our involvement at the café.

This is an opportunity to remind all friends and relatives about these excellent initiatives taking place in Newport, Ryde, Freshwater,Sandown, Ventnor and Cowes. The purpose of these cafés are to provide a space in which the problems and pain which surround the dementia process can be voiced. The cafés are for ALL persons with any form of dementia, their spouses & their FAMILIES, including grandchildren and for ALL professionals involved in this specialist area of care.

The Alzheimer Cafés have a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere and provides families & professionals with the opportunity to share their feelings, time to discuss problems, give & receive support, guidance, informal education and information. All this happens within the safe and sensitive environment of the cafes. It also gives a good opportunity to make new friends. Each cafe includes food, tea, coffee & drinks. Every month we have guest speakers on a related subject.

Please note that there is no charge to attend or for refreshments. There is also the opportunity to access free transport to & from the venues.
